jumpsuit

The minute I stepped out of my house in this jumpsuit... I can honestly say that I felt like making a u-turn just to change my outfit. The weather was just absolutely ridiculously warm. But then salvation came in the form of a bus with air-conditioner, so there's that! I love the material of this (which I would presume is cotton. However, my identification of materials is abysmal, to say the least, so don't take my word for it) - it makes for such comfortable wear, and to lounge around in. Plus it's pretty much fuss free for a jumpsuit; no unnecessary buttons, just a simple half zip down the back and an elastic waist. I love. In fact I am so into the comfy "sweatpants" look at the moment (I know what Monsieur Karl says about sweatpants, but every girl deserves an off day) that I am tempted to buy this pair of Alexander Wang sweatpants till I looked at my sad bank account and made the rational but painful choice, of saying no.

Also, I went for a meet-up hosted by Margaret Zhang of ShineByThree at Oxwell & Co and she was so amazingly lovely, down to earth, and just all around nice. I can't believe that I've been able to meet her, I feel too lucky! Social media is really an amazing tool, I can't even fully grasp the power of it. But it has definitely helped me grab some opportunities which would otherwise be unavailable. Also saw the owner of ByInviteOnly, one of my favourite local jewellery brands, Trixie Khong! She's super lovely as well, it's encouraging to see how a fellow Singaporean has made a pretty successful foray into the big bad world of fashion. Every piece of jewellery is handmade and so gorgeous.

PS, Margaret complimented my jumpsuit! I felt like jumping around in that instant but for the sake of appearing not insane, I didn't. Which was, in my opinion, an excellent idea.

pinstripe

First off, let me just say that I am very very pleased and beaming with joy~~~~ today! I got my hair cut after almost a year (literally a year) and I love it!! Feel like, hair affects 60% of my mood for the day, the other 40% being face and of course, my clothes. Oh what a superficial world I live in. Anyhow, dug out this pair of Zara skorts today. Bought it close to two months back and haven't had a chance to really wear them yet; they are slightly too big for me despite being an XS.. I was debating whether to get them altered or not and guess what, I still haven't come to a decision yet. How typical of me. I like this pair a lot as there are not like the generic solid coloured ones, and has that extra detail of a pinstripe pattern. However, it irks me slightly that many "online shops" in Singapore are just ripping off designs from Zara/ASOS/Topshop/etc now and claiming them to be manufactured. One could say that Zara actually rips off actual designers as well but at least they do not do it so blatantly.. I mean hello, Zara "inspired" skorts? Hmmmm. The Chuck Palahniuk quote - "Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known" - comes to mind, but there is definitely a difference between a combination of ideas/inspiration from various sources, and the exact replica from one source. Well I think I've said enough on this topic for now.

clashing prints

This t-shirt is perfect for the maddeningly sweat-inducing weather of late in Singapore. The fabric is definitely a delight, but what's more amazing is definitely the prints - and a clash of prints at that. It's just so subtle that if you're not noticing, the different print may just slip your eye completely, and that's what I love about this. Personally, I'm not a fan of bold and loud clashing prints as it seems just a tad hyperbolic, but give me all the muted and hidden different prints please! Am loving this clutch/crossbody (I do seem to have a habit of turning crossbody bags into clutches don't I) bag; it reminds me so much of the Jason Wu Daphne cross body bag.... which I sadly cannot afford. Yet.

knit

Time to bust out the knits - Singapore has been exceptionally rainy these days; not that I'm complaining! Dug out this pretty old Zara top (bought it sometime back in Feb/March. Time is a scary, scary thing) and loving in it in all new ways. The 3/4 sleeves really provide a new perspective, and the back details as well. Isn't it weird how hard it is to find a pure white knitted top? Not off white, cream or beige, but pure white. Foreseeing myself layering this over denim tops & other shirts soon, that is, if the weather permits. This pair of jeans have also been worn to death, the cropped length provides something just a little bit different. It's all in the details! Awaiting another for another ripped pair from ASOS, cannot wait!

I've noticed that I've been wearing the same pair of flats for the past three posts. Ooops. It's not that I don't have other shoes, but what is more perfect than black flats? I can only think of one answer, and that's black boots. But eh, boots in Singapore equals to lots of staring (which I hate) and hot and sweaty feet. WHO WANTS THAT?

PS, Does anyone face the problem of their bags/clutches furring their knitted tops? I always do and it's infuriating, sad face. Plus I'm such a clumsy person! I'll pray that someone invents an anti-furring knit material soon, if that's even possible!

skorts

A skort: (aka scooter/skant, according to the ever trusty wikipedia) the perfect item this fall. Shorts may be overly casual at times, and skirts are a hassle when you just want to be comfy.. so skorts are def the way to go! Found this alternative pair to the Zara ones that are basically RAMPANT everywhere (rampant is an understatement, imo). Would have been happy to purchase a few more colours but sadly ASOS only stocks red and black. Pairing it with a t-shirt from Zara and I'm good to go! I am loving this (was thinking of getting more colours, OH NO I DIDN'T. Zara should consider giving membership because I have been wholeheartedly contributing to their profit these few weeks) t-shirt; its' subtle mesh provides a more sleek look, and the polyester material is absolutely lovely to touch. T'was sadly a rainy day in the usually sunny Singapore so I had to brave the rain to get these pictures. If there was a fall season here, I would think that it would be my favourite season. Cold enough to keep me happy but not freezing sub-zero temperatures, and oh the pretty golden leaves! One can only dream.

PS, pardon those creases on the skorts! Ain't nobody got time for ironing. Nah, I was just rushing for time. That seems to happen no matter how early I prepare, hmm. Plus I just received them yesterday!
